You can't go wrong with gingham. This timeless pattern adds a cozy, classic feel to any space, making it perfect for a guest room. Amy went with a gingham comforter in a soft blue to compliment the wallpaper in the space. This serves as a calming backdrop, while setting the stage for the festive touches to come.
Adding a Touch of Elegance with Velvet
Introduce a deep burgundy pillow or deep green for a pop of color and luxurious texture. Amy used a gorgeous lumbar pillow from Kirkland, featuring rich velvet and elegant ruffles on the side. This burgundy accent ties in beautifully with the muted tones of soft blue, adding a sophisticated touch to the room, while not screaming Christmas.
Homage to Family or Vintage Christmas Decor
Even incorporating a single piece of family or vintage Christmas decor can go a long way, and provide a sense of history and warmth to the room. Amy chose a little ceramic village home, handed down from our mom. It has soft neutral tones and deep burgundy accents. This charming piece nods to holiday traditions without overwhelming the space.
Special Touches with Garland and Evergreen
Enhance the festive feel by adding garland around the bed frame. Use sprigs of evergreen as accents around mirrors or artwork. We dressed up these adorable accent mirrors with a sprig on each side, complimented by a velvet ribbon in burgundy to echo the pillow. These natural elements bring a fresh, festive feel and softens the space while adding some depth.
The Finishing Touch: A Festive Wreath
Complete the look with a festive wreath above the bed in neutral tones. We crafted our own using a gold ring, faux greens, and dried flowers, securing them with wire and hot glue. This simple yet elegant wreath serves as a beautiful focal point, bringing the entire room together.
